Website IT snapshots (free with your account)
Website snapshots are the external side of Explain My IT: we look at your public IT footprint from the internet — the same kind of things an outsider could see — and turn it into a plain-English report.
What you need
- A free Explain My IT account (no credit card for snapshots).
- The domain or website you want checked (for example your company website).
What we check (in plain English)
Typical areas include DNS and where your domain is registered, email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), your website's security certificate (HTTPS), broad technology signals, and public breach signals associated with your email domain. We do not log into your systems or scan inside your office network — that requires the separate On-Premise network monitor.
Where to run snapshots
After you sign in, use your dashboard to start new checks and open past reports. Your history stays in one place so you can compare over time.
Fair use
Snapshots are free for normal business use. We apply rate limits to prevent abuse. If something blocks you unexpectedly, email support@explainmyit.com.
