How to find your network monitor account key

The Windows network monitor needs a one-time secret key so it can send scan results to your Explain My IT account. The key is shown only when you add an agent — treat it like a password.

    Sign in at explainmyit.com and open your dashboard.

    Open the Internal network (or Network) section — the tab where you manage On-Premise monitoring.

    Click to add an agent (or similar). The site will generate a long key made of letters and numbers.

    Copy the entire key and paste it into the ExplainMyIT app on your Windows PC, then click to start monitoring.

Lost the key?

You cannot view the same key again after you close the dialog. Create a new agent in the dashboard to get a fresh key, then paste it in the app under Settings (replace key). The old agent entry can be removed if you no longer use it.
